Our Services
ENGINEERING DESIGN
We have a design team of highly skilled and experienced engineers, capable of designing and detailing of complex structures using various international building codes such as the Euro Code, ACI, and also the national building code. Our Design team consists of Engineers from international Universities such as the University of London, Bristol University, and the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Some of our engineers are professionally qualified through international professional bodies and one of our engineers is accredited by the capital planning authority – RAJUK to certify structural drawings of multistory buildings. Our engineers have experience of working in diverse localities and in multinational environments. They are experts in the use of the state of art software in producing engineering design, in use of large data in project management and the use of other software in efficient use of resources.
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION
We have within our team engineers who have their professional qualification from the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (UK) the Institution of Structural Engineer (UK). They have between them a combined experience of 80 years in construction management of various infrastructure facilities such as buildings including retrofitting work, retaining walls, perimeter walls and bridges. They are fully familiar with procurement procedures, various forms of construction contracts and management of construction contracts including health and safety, environmental management, monthly measurements, issue of payment certificates, completion certificates handling of defects liability periods, issue of maintenance certificates and final settlement of claims and final accounts
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Understanding the importance of sustainable development is one of the key requirements to be professionally qualified. We have two members who are professionally qualified and others are working under their guidance to attain professional status. Our current commission relating to structural inspection of RMG factories is in essence a Health and Safety Project intended to ensure that these buildings are safe for the workers. We are familiar with environmental impact assessment and environmental management associated with infrastructure works. MCS has undertaken BREEM assessment of a building that it was responsible for designing.
IMPLEMENTATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
MCS is familiar with the steps involved in developing infrastructure projects from conception to completion. We have undertaken feasibility studies of projects and provided advice to international agencies such as UNDP, IFIC (WB), FCO and DFID. Apart from this, MCS has been called upon to undertake independent review of projects already under implementation. These included three government buildings which were under construction in South Sudan and which were funded by the then Multi-donor Trust Fund and the WB.
